After
so many big names of the bollywood being arrested, it seems that it
may be the turn of Akshay Kumar to pay a visit to the jail.
The
Bombay High Court has ordered the Mumbai Police to prosecute Akshay
Kumar and his wife Twnikle Khanna for an act of obscenity done during
the promotion of a popular clothing brand.
In March 2009, during a fashion show for the promotion of the famous
jeans brand Levis Unbuttoned, Akshay Kumar had asked his wife Twinkle
Khanna to open up the button of his jeans. This act of theirs brought
trouble for them and a case was registered against them at Vakola Police
Station by a social worker.
The
FIR had a complaint against the Event Manager but she was later
acquitted.
Obscenity
is defined under Section 292 of the Indian Penal Code. There is a
punishment of maximum 2 years of imprisonment or a fine of Rs. 2000.
If the offender is caught for the second time, then there is a
maximum punishment of 5 years or a fine of Rs. 5000.
